 Resources for Holloway Prize Student Competitors

The NH SBDC provides confidential, long-term management consulting and educational programs to more than 3,000 New Hampshire businesses each year and offers a variety of e-tools including e-Learning for Entrepreneurs - OnLine AnyTime at no cost, as well as access to information and referral. Specialized services include the Environmental Management Program and the Restaurant Initiative.


The NH SBDC is an outreach program of the UNH Whittemore School of Business and Economics, and a cooperative venture of the U.S. Small Business Administration, the State of New Hampshire (DRED), the University System of New Hampshire, and the private sector.

SCORE, supported by the Small Business Administration, is an organization of retired executives who provide free consultative business advice and know-how.  The Merrimack Valley Chapter is based in Manchester and has about 65 members.

The Amoskeag Business Incubator (abi) and Manchester Union Leader's on-line "Ask-the-Expert" series is an interactive, web-based environment where questions may be asked and answered on various business topics that change each month as new experts are introduced.

New experts will be featured periodically, who will post a short article on a specific business topic. Readers will then be able to ask questions of the featured expert. Answers will be posted to selected questions and the information will be available to on the website for future reference.

About David Wood

David W. "Woody" Wood of Deering, N.H., is a writer and newsletter publisher specializing in the construction industry. Since 1994, he has operated Construction Break, producing marketing newsletters for more than one hundred construction firms in the U.S. and Canada. His own quarterly newsletter, Words from Woody, has received 26 national awards. A past president of the Construction Writers Association, in 2005 Wood was recognized with the Silver Hard Hat, the organization's highest honor. He also serves as a volunteer counselor for the Southern NH Chapter of SCORE.
