Part-time MBA Curriculum

Our innovative curriculum was designed specifically to accelerate student progress through this AACSB-accredited MBA program. We do it by integrating courses, identifying key skills and concepts necessary for success in business and then helping students master these skills and concepts through class discussions, case studies, guest lectures, and projects. Students may choose to complete their courses at either our main campus in Durham or our urban campus in Manchester.

The program is designed to build insight into complex organizations. Core courses focus on the functional areas of business, how they interact, how they contribute to an organization's goals and objectives, and how they can be managed effectively. Students learn the behavioral and social skills that empower effective leaders in any organization, as well as technical skills necessary to understand complex business processes, manage the development of technology projects, and utilize data for effective decision-making.

* On a space available basis, students may begin in January; however, due to sequencing requirements, the program will then take three years to complete.

Once students have completed most of the core courses, they can begin taking elective courses. Optional specializations provide students with the opportunity to focus on a specific area of interest while studying with faculty who are recognized authorities in their fields. In the past, students have chosen such areas as Financial Management, Entrepreneurial Venture Creation, and Marketing and Supply Chain Management.

White the Part-time MBA can be completed in 22 months, some students choose to follow a reduced courseload—making this the most flexible MBA we offer. Students can elect to complete the degree program in anywhere from 2-6 years.
